Jervoise School

Teachers come back with a completely different perspective; they learn things about how they can improve their own practice, pick up new ideas about how to organise classes, but most of all they get more enthusiastic about their job.

'The Flipped Learning Revolution' is a Key Action 2 Strategic partnership project lead by Jervoise School in Birmingham. With the help of eTwinning, Jervoise School is working with schools in Spain and Finland. Flipped learning is a pedagogical approach in which direct instruction moves from the group learning space, to the individual learning space, and the resulting group space is transformed into a dynamic, interactive learning environment where the educator guides the students as they apply concepts and engage creatively in the subject matter. The project has enabled all teaching staff at the school to go abroad on educational trips to meet with other practitioners and learn how to apply flipped learning in their own classrooms.

It’s a massive opportunity for us as a small school in an area which is quite economically and socially challenged, to be able to get the opportunity to do this under normal circumstances or without Erasmus+, these opportunities just wouldn’t be there for the children that we represent.
