Any UK participant of Erasmus+ or any of its predecessor programmes – Comenius, Erasmus, Grundtvig, Leonardo or Youth in Action – can take part. Students, volunteers, apprentices, learners, teachers and members of staff, if you have had an amazing experience that marked the beginning of a journey to a new career, improved education results or new horizons then we want to hear from you!
Send us one photo and a short description that highlights the impact Erasmus+ has had on you or others for a chance to win £150 in travel vouchers. Winning photos will appear on our social media sites, perhaps even in our brochures, and may be displayed in our exhibition at the UK National Agency Annual Conference! Share your experiences with other participants, the wider public and inspire others to participate in this life-changing programme.
We will be looking for photos and inspiring stories that capture how taking part in Erasmus+ or previous programmes has shaped your life. Your photo could have been taken while you were abroad, running your project in the UK — or even many years later so long as it shows the impact of your experience.
How to take part
Share your Erasmus+ journey by:
- selecting one photo;
- adding an inspiring caption of 150 words or less;
- upload to our competition entry page, completing the short form.
Your photo should be your own work and as Erasmus+ started before digital cameras we are happy to accept scans of your best quality photos — so dig out those albums!
When you upload to our competition page, remember to include an inspiring caption of no more than 150 words that explains how it represents the story of your journey. We would also encourage you to tick if your image represents the following European Commission Erasmus+ 30 Anniversary themes:
- social integration and inclusion;
- youth employability and entrepreneurship;
- international cooperation;
- enhancing language skills; and
- excellence in teaching, training and youth work.
What could you win?
We will be awarding £100 travel vouchers for the best 10 photos we receive on our competition page between 20 April and 30 June 2017. Two top ‘Directors’ Choice’ winners from this group will receive £150 in travel vouchers and an acrylic print of their photograph.
There will also be three winners from our public vote who will each receive £50 in amazon vouchers as well as an acrylic print of their photograph, so remember to let your friends and colleagues know!
The top five winners will be invited to our National Agency Conference taking place in London in October to receive their prints and share their Erasmus+ journey. Winners may also see their Erasmus+ photo featured on our Facebook and Twitter accounts, website and perhaps even in our offices and on our promotional materials!
Who can take part?
Any UK participant of the Erasmus+ programme or its predecessor programmes (Comenius, Erasmus, Grundtvig, Leonardo, Transversal or Youth in Action) over the last 30 years. You should have taken part through a UK organisation, such as a school, university, college, adult education, volunteering organisation or youth group. You could have been a student, teacher, volunteer, young person, apprentice or staff member.
We’re looking for one entry per participant, so no group submissions (although your photo can show a group image). We can accept multiple entries from parents, guardians or teachers on behalf of different individual participants who are under the age of 18.
Entries will be judged on content and descriptions. The UK National Agency communications team will select ten winners and the top two winners in this group will be selected by the UK Erasmus+ National Agency Director and Deputy Director. In addition, three public choice entries will be selected based on the number of votes they receive in our competition gallery from 20 April-7 July, so the earlier you enter the more votes you could win!
The UK Erasmus+ National Agency selections will be announced on our Facebook page by 10 July 2017.
The competition is open from 11am (UK time) 20 April until 11am 30 June 2017.
Please ensure you have read and comply with all the terms and conditions (102 KB).
